WINNIPEG, MB: Maurice (Moe) Sabourin, President, Winnipeg Police Association (WPA), is pleased to announce proceeds from the 2018 WPA Charity Ball totalling $45,000 has been donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
Joining Sabourin for the cheque presentation today were, George Van Mackelbergh, Vice-President, WPA; Gary Rozak, Director of Corporate Partnerships and Stakeholder Relations, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba; and 2019 CHFM Champion Child, Gianna Eusebio and her family.
“The WPA Charity Ball has supported the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba for over 30 years,” said Sabourin. “Today’s donation of $45,000 is our largest, single year donation ever and brings our CHFM total to date to over $650,000. Our members are proud to support children’s health in Manitoba.”
"For 33 years, the Winnipeg Police Association has been there when our sick and injured kids have needed them the most,” said Rozak. "The impact the WPA Charity Ball has made is tremendous. Proceeds from the WPA Charity Ball has funded equipment, support programs, and life-saving research benefiting over 3.6 million children across Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and Nunvaut. We thank the Winnipeg Police Association for their on-going dedication.”
The 95th Annual WPA Charity Ball takes place Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Canad Inns Polo Park. The WPA Charity Ball is the longest running annual charity function of its kind in North America. To purchase tickets, call the WPA office at (204) 957-1579.
