The 96th annual Winnipeg Police Association Charity Ball in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba (CHFM) happened Saturday, April 29, 2023 and was another big success.

The prize raffle and 50/50 alone raised $12,970 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and over the past 35 years the Charity Ball has raised over $775,000 for the CHFM. Thank you table sponsors, ticket purchasers and raffle prize donors for your continued support.

The 96 th annual Charity Ball was Emceed by local radio legend, Joe Aiello. Entertainment was provided by the Danny Kramer Dance Band with a very special performance earlier in the evening by the Winnipeg Police Pipe Band.

The highlight of the evening was the speech given by the 2023 CHFM Champion Child, Pacey Wall. The courage, intelligence, sense of humour and love of life displayed by Pacey touched everyone in attendance. His and his family’s gratitude to all at the Children’s Hospital of Manitoba for his care was clearly evident. 2020 & 2021 Champion Child, Brady Bobrowich and 2022 Champion Child, Keira Davlut were also in attendance.

The WPA Charity Ball is the longest running annual charity function of its kind in North America. “The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba has been a WPA charity of choice for
over 35 years,” said Cory Wiles, WPA President. “The well-being of children and youth in Winnipeg and Manitoba is close to our hearts and guides us in everything we do.”

The total amount raised from the 2023 Charity Ball will be announced in the near future with a cheque presentation to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
