WINNIPEG, MB: Maurice (Moe) Sabourin, President, Winnipeg Police Association (WPA), is pleased to announce the WPA has donated $3,000 to the St.Amant Foundation. The presentation took place today, January 18, 2017, 11:00 A.M, at St.Amant’s head office in St Vital. Joining Sabourin to present the donation was WPA Vice-President, George Van Mackelbergh.

“The donation to the St.Amant Foundation supporting the incredible work of St.Amant is consistent with our values of giving back to the community, supporting children’s charities and helping to protect our most vulnerable citizens,” said Sabourin. “Some of our own members have children with developmental disabilities so St.Amant is close to our hearts.”

“The St.Amant Foundation is grateful to the Winnipeg Police Association for their donation – it will have an impact all year long,” said Juliette Mucha, Director, St.Amant Foundation. “The money donated lets children and adults St.Amant support make new connections through our autism summer day camp and the St.Amant Leisure Guide activities such as crafting, cooking, and swimming taking place throughout the city in inclusive settings.”

Sabourin says along with protecting citizens and ensuring safe neighborhoods, the Winnipeg Police Association endeavours to enhance the community wherever and whenever possible. “We care about the community and understand it’s our responsibility to assist those in need. Helping others is something we encourage all citizens to do as we all benefit by making life better for those less fortunate.”
